How Unforgiven Blocks God’s Blessings. Unforgiveness, fear, bitterness, cynicism, and vengeance: all are characteristics that Satan uses to infect us, destroy our peace of mind, inspire our ungodly actions and agendas, and eventually, destroy our souls. Jesus stresses the importance of forgiveness when He asks us to forgive in the Lord’s Prayer.
The root of a closed heart is unforgiveness, and its purpose is to prevent God’s blessings from flowing into your life.
As you know, God wants to bless you, but being bitter and unforgiving will prevent you from receiving exactly what God wants in your life.
You may think that God is withholding blessings from you, but that is not the case.
Fear prevents us from living a happy life filled with God’s blessings. If you’re afraid to try something new, get a new job, or start a relationship, you’ll never know the blessings that come from taking that leap of faith.
Doubt The Lord tells us, “Do not doubt or be afraid” (D&C 6:36).
If you doubt that God loves you and wants to bless you, you may find it hard to believe that anything good can come from God in your life.
Sin God cannot bless you if you disobey God’s commandments and choose to continue a life of sin. And it’s not just the big sins that are important.
A sin is a sin no matter how great it is, and one of the consequences of sin is missing out on God’s daily blessings.
Pride Pride deceives you into believing that you can do anything. It makes you self-centered and makes you trust yourself instead of trusting God.
Negative Negative thoughts and words are powerful.
Negative feelings can prevent you from experiencing God’s blessings.
